Do I need a visa to enter Argentina?

If you’re planning a trip to Argentina, one of the first questions you might have is: “Do I need a visa?”
The good news is that for most travelers — especially from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and New Zealandno visa is required to enter Argentina for stays of up to 90 days for tourism.

That means you can simply arrive with your passport, a return or onward ticket, and proof of accommodation — and start enjoying your journey right away.

🧭 Entry Requirements at a Glance

According to Argentina’s Dirección Nacional de Migraciones, visitors must meet the following basic requirements to enter the country:

  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date.
  • Proof of onward or return travel.
  • A visa, only if your nationality requires one.

Travelers from countries that do require a visa (such as Taiwan, China, some African and Middle Eastern nations) must apply in advance through their nearest Argentine consulate.
